A dialogue between two friends about everyday life

Javeed: Waseem, why do you look so worried?
What's the matter with you?
Waseem: The wearer knows where the shoe pinches.
Don't you see how prices are shooting up?
J: Yes, you are right.
The cost of living has reached a new height.
W: And there's no telling what may happen.
A chosen few are minting/spinning money while we are ground down by poverty and price rise.
J: Really, it's an age of leaders and dealers.
W: And of officers as well/too.
They are feathering their own nest.
J: Yes corruption is rife and honesty is at a discount.
W: What are we heading towards?
Is n't our country galloping towards a catastrophe?
J: Yes it is.
So each day lingers on like a year.
W: But a lucky few are rolling in luxury.
J: Yes you are right.
This is the tragedy.
There is poverty in the land of plenty.
